SmartSeed 0.27.0.1 Release Notes
SmartSeed 0.27.0.1 Release Notes
Release date: October 25, 2026
Version: 0.27.0.1
Release status: Generally available for direct installation
SmartSeed 0.27 introduces multi-target orchestration and expanded record deletion capabilities, making it easier to prepare, distribute, monitor, and clean up Salesforce test data across multiple environments.
This release also adds target-level progress tracking, execution history, compatibility checks, and deletion safeguards.
1. What's new
Multi-Target Orchestration
Availability: Pro
SmartSeed now supports coordinated data transfers to multiple Salesforce target orgs from a single orchestration run.
Previously, transferring the same dataset to several environments required separate transfer operations. With multi-target orchestration, users can discover the selected records once and coordinate their delivery to multiple destinations.
Key capabilities include:
- Shared record discovery: Discover selected records and relationships once for the orchestration run.
- Multiple destinations: Select up to 10 target orgs for a coordinated transfer.
- Independent target execution: Each target processes its transfer independently.
- Per-target progress: Monitor the status of each destination from the orchestration interface.
- Transfer results: Review records created and updated in each target.
- Execution history: Return to previous orchestration runs and review their results.
An individual target can complete independently of other destinations.
Run-Specific Record Deletion
SmartSeed now provides a Delete Run Records action for eligible orchestration runs.
This feature allows users to remove records created by a particular transfer run without initiating a broader cleanup of all SmartSeed-tracked records in the target.
Important behavior:
- Only records created by the selected run are eligible.
- Records that the run only updated are not deleted by this action.
- Deletion eligibility is evaluated before removal.
- Safeguards help prevent removal of records that have changed or have dependencies.
- Deletion progress and results can be reviewed for the operation.
If an orchestration run created no records in its target orgs, the Delete Run Records action is unavailable.
This is intentional and does not mean that the transferred records have already been deleted.
Multi-Target Delete All Records in Target
Availability: Pro
The existing Delete All Records in Target functionality has been extended to support multiple target orgs.
Users can select up to 10 target environments from the Editor-level deletion dialog and initiate cleanup for the selected destinations.
Each target has independent execution, progress tracking, and results.
Unlike run-specific deletion, Delete All uses SmartSeed's transfer mappings across runs and schema items.
This includes SmartSeed-tracked records that were:
- Created during previous transfers.
- Matched and updated during previous transfers.
Important: Delete All is not restricted to records created by a single orchestration run. Review the selected destinations carefully before starting the operation.
Deletion Progress and History
The release introduces additional visibility into deletion operations.
Capabilities include:
- Per-target deletion progress and completion status.
- Deletion result summaries.
- Target-level deletion history.
- Progress recovery when the interface is reopened.
- Independent processing of selected destinations.
Deletion history distinguishes broader target-level cleanup from deletion associated with a particular orchestration run.
Compatibility and Execution Safeguards
SmartSeed 0.27 includes additional checks for multi-target deletion operations.
For multi-target Delete All, each selected destination must have a compatible installed SmartSeed package version.
A target running an older version, or an environment without an installed SmartSeed package, is rejected for this operation.
Additional safeguards include target-side concurrency protection, operation tracking, and callback correlation to prevent conflicting deletion operations and maintain accurate progress reporting.

3. How to use multi-target orchestration
- Open SmartSeed and prepare the schema items or bundle you want to transfer.
- Select the objects, fields, and related records required for your test dataset.
- Choose the orchestration workflow and select your target connections.
- Review the planned transfer and validate the destinations.
- Start the orchestration run.
- Monitor the execution status and record counts for each target.
- Review the completed results from the orchestration interface.
Each destination reports its own outcome, including the number of records created and updated.
4. How to use record deletion
Delete records from a specific run
- Open the relevant orchestration run.
- Select Delete Run Records, if the action is available.
- Review the deletion preview and eligible records.
- Confirm the operation.
- Monitor progress and review the results.
The action is disabled when the selected run did not create any eligible records.
Delete all SmartSeed-tracked records from selected targets
- Open the Editor-level Delete All Records in Target dialog.
- Select the target connections to clean up.
- Review the selected destinations and deletion scope.
- Confirm the operation.
- Monitor each target's deletion progress.
- Review the results in Deletion History.
This operation has a broader scope than run-specific deletion and should be used with care.

- SmartSeed 0.26.0.1 can be upgraded in place to 0.27.0.1.
- Environments running an older beta package may need to uninstall that beta before installing the released version.
- Uninstalling a managed package can affect package data and configuration. Review the consequences and preserve any necessary information before proceeding.
- Multi-target Delete All requires compatible SmartSeed installations in the selected destinations.
6. Known limitations
The following limitations are known in this release:
Concurrent deletion requests
Requests initiated at precisely the same time can, in rare circumstances, receive the same start-time correlation value. Additional protection for this edge case is planned.
Deletion mapping edge cases
Two specialized scenarios involving external-ID remapping and records hidden by sharing are not fully covered by the current bunker-based deletion behavior.
Historical deletion logs
Deletion records written before a target-alias correction may not display the expected target name in Deletion History. New deletion operations include the corrected target identification.
Scratch-org record-type observation
A change in record-type counts was observed during integration testing. Its cause has not been established, and no direct connection to the released functionality has been demonstrated.
These limitations do not prevent installation or normal use of the released capabilities.
7. Validation summary
SmartSeed 0.27.0.1 completed package validation with 83% code coverage.
Release verification included:
- 998 passing Jest tests.
- 74 passing email notification tests.
- Successful multi-target deletion tests across five Salesforce environments.
- 180,425 records successfully deleted across two integration runs, with no skipped or failed deletions.
- Installed-package compatibility verification against SmartSeed 0.27.0.1, an older 0.25 installation, and an environment without an installed package.
The package was promoted successfully and is available for direct installation.
